Alan Wake: Episode 2
I completed Alan Wake: Episode 2 last night. It opens back in Alan’s apartment in the city (probably New York) and Alice and he have a blackout. No axe-wielding enemies appear, but Alice wets her pants over the lights going out and Alan tells he loves her (as if her fear of the dark is the reason). You then wake up in the Sheriff’s office back in Bright Falls (the sleepy mountain town your wife went missing in back in episode one). Alan’s sleazy manager shows up and acts like a dick (making Alan and himself a perfect match).
Your goal in episode two is to meet your wife’s kidnapper at a place called Lover’s Peak, which I was hoping was going to turn into a late night homosexual encounter, sadly it was just more hot flashlight action. He of course gets away, cause we can’t have anything go smoothly or quickly in horror stories. And then the ultimate boss battle for this episode is a flock of evil crows. Fucking crows. And not even the cool Game of Thrones kind. At the end of the episode you get a call from a girl in a trailer park, and off you go, running into the creepy lady from episode one’s bathroom hallway scene’s trap. Episode two of Alan Wake isn’t filling me with hope for the rest of the game, but I’m willing to stick with it a little while longer.
