The Ultimate Companion Bag: The Tom Bihn Co-Pilot

Published on

I purchased the Tom Bihn Co-Pilot as part of the first order I ever placed with Tom Bihn along with the Aeronaut and the Synapse (19). I thought of it as my personal item to put under the seat in front of me on the airplane — a task that it serves very well at. It also worked very well as a laptop bag because at the time, I had an 11 inch Macbook Air. I fell in love with its small size. I loved the suede-lined pocket that could hold my iPhone. I loved the middle front pocket that fit a water bottle so perfectly and the drain hole at the bottom so it wouldn’t hold in condensation from the bottle. It was the most thoughtful touch I had ever seen in a bag’s design.

The Co-Pilot’s handle is extremely comfortable to hold, even for long periods of time, and the addition of a Tom Bihn Absolute Strap makes carrying the (particularly small and light) Co-Pilot a very comfortable experience. If you’re going to carry anything larger than an 11 inch Macbook Air, you’re going to want to move up to the Pilot though.
